Michelle Williams, the former Destiny’s Child member who is currently playing Roxie Hart in Broadway’s Chicago, is extending her stay in the Tony-winning revival. Williams, who was original supposed to play the part of the merry murderess through March 28, has added 18 performances through April 13. She will then join the Los Angeles engagement of the show’s national tour from April 20 through May 9 at the Pantages Theatre.
In other Chicago news, Gossip Girl star Matthew Settle has shifted the dates of his Broadway debut to April 19 through June 13. Before that, Tom Hewitt will return as Billy Flynn for a three-week engagement beginning on March 29, Amra-Faye Wright will return as Velma Kelly beginning on April 5 and Terri White, who recently made a splash in the revival of Finian’s Rainbow will makes her Chicago debut as Matron “Mama” Morton beginning on April 26.
In Los Angeles, Williams will be joined by Terra C. MacLeod as Velma Kelly, Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn, Tom Riis Farrell as Amos Hart and Carol Woods as Matron “Mama” Morton.
